Ableton Live 7: The Importance Of Importing REX Files
This video takes a focus on one of the many new features that has been added to Ableton Live 7; importing REX files. This has been one of the most fiercely requested features in Ableton for some time, so the genies over at Ableton have granted a lot of wishes with Live 7.
Check out the video to see this in action.
HUSTON SINGLETARY: Brand new in Live 7, one of our top feature requests has been for a while is the import of REX file technology. So, I can now browse through my REX files, find what I like, drag it right into clip slot number 1, and we've got REX files playing inside of Live 7. Very, very, very cool. If I want to go ahead and separate and slice that REX file information to MIDI track, very simple to do, shows up right here to the right of track 1. There it is, double click, and voila! We've got MIDI clips playing from left to right as well. It's breaking out each one of those MIDI clips into its own individual channels. You can see them working from left to right. So again, REX file, REX2, all imported into Live 7. It's very cool....
