Acoustic Image Coda R: If Only The Instrument It Was Amplifying Was This Portable
Juan Díes -- band leader for Sones de México -- easily hoists the Acoustic Image Coda R to show off its downward-firing subwoofer. This little monster cranks out so much low end from such a tiny package, we're surprised it doesn't jump around the stage as the bassist cranks out swingin' roots.
[SONES DE MEXICO PERFORMING]
JUAN DIES: My name is Juan Dies. I'm a musician in the group "Sones de Mexico" ensemble. We specialize in Mexican Traditional Music. This is a tiny, very portable bass amp: it's the Acoustic Image Coda R. It has two channels. This little amp here has a speaker that shoots the sound to the bottom, and that helps you rumble the floor a little bit and get more a deeper bass from such a small amp. It has a small speaker in the front to give you a little bit of the high end, and it's very portable. It has a strap and a case and you can just swing it over your shoulder and play. Even a small club gig you can do just with this one.
If you want to go something bigger, in the back it has a speakon connector and you can attach a larger speaker to it; in this case, I have a David Eden speaker so it can expand, and I think it has 400 Watts so it's got enough power to drive additional speakers, so it's a great find.
