ADAM Audio S7A MK2 Studio Monitors Impress At AES
ADAM Audio's S7A MK2 is not only a main monitor for medium to large sized control rooms, it's also Adam Audio's main model - their ultimate monitor. It was introduced to the convention-going public at AES in New York City.
The S7A MK2 features a unique combination of ADAM's own transducer technology, modern PWM amp design, an intuitive control panel and a d'Appolito speaker alignment. D'Appolito's speaker alignment features symmetrical drivers with respect to the horizontal line, and studies show that symmetry is an attractive feature.
All of these attractive features result in a unit that offers no compromises and analyzes musical details to a meticulous degree. The S7A MK2's design shows a wide dispersion horizontally and a bit narrower of a dispersion in the vertical plane. This reduces reflections off of the floor or the ceiling.
Drive units are mounted on an acoustically dead, ultra-stiff Aluminum honeycomb plate. This provides an extremely stable bridge to the cabinet, and time behavior is audibly and measurably bettered as a result.
