It's that time again. The Gearwire team packed themselves tightly into a small airliner bound for New York on Thursday, and have been up to their necks in new products ever since.
This first video blog from AES gives an overview of things to come in the next few days and also provides a glimpse into the lives of those of us at Gearwire. Enjoy your personal tour of our accommodations in New York, resting assured that you are safe in the comfort of your own home.
SPEAKER 1: Welcome to beautiful New York City. Gearwire.Com in our luxury penthouse accommodations.
BILL HOLLAND: So, these are our luxury accommodations with the cracked pipe, and you'll notice the paint up here. My favorite little option about the shower is that it's got [BILL CLACKS SHOWER HEAD FACE PLATE] oh yeah, look at that. That explains the old hotel experience here.
Evidently, room service has not been by for two days, so we have no clean towels.
SPEAKER 2: My room...
SPEAKER 3: [SOUNDS LIKE]We're going to do this here.
SPEAKER 2: ...there's no light, but it matches my soul
.BILL HOLLAND: The equipment room, the bags.
SPEAKER 2: This is Mike, our lovely freelance fellow from New York. He's our local, and he's going to be shooting and maybe asking some questions, some hard-hitting gear questions.
SPEAKER 1: There's lots of groovy stuff going on here. We have TASCAM and Audix and there's just too many groovy things to name.
SPEAKER 2: We're doing TASCAM, Ableton, the [INDISCERNIBLE] special. We're interviewing Jack Joseph Puig, who is a famous producer and mixer, works for Universal Music. Oh, we have...
SPEAKER 1: Cycling '74.
SPEAKER 2: ...Cycling '74 doing the Max 5. We're interviewing Darwin Grosse from there. He is the producer.
MIKE: Well, Belinda Carlisle will be there now.
SPEAKER 2: Yes, yes.
MIKE: Or is that the -- damn it.
SPEAKER 2: I think you got the wrong conference.
SPEAKER 1: We've seen it all, and we've done it all, and we've done a few things that we shouldn't have done, but you'll see that in the video.
