Control dynamics flexibly and musically, courtesy of the Trans Linear Control circuit in the Aguilar Amplification TLC Compressor ($269 MSRP).
The TLC Compressor features a four-knob layout for simple, straight-forward tweaking. Dial in the right sound with the unit's range of attack times and variable threshold and slope levels. According to Aguilar, this heavy-duty steel box offers the same range of control found in expensive studio compressors.
At a glance, the TLC Compressor features the following:
- Threshold control: variable from -30 to -10 dBu
- Slope control: variable from 2:1 to infinity
- Attack control: variable from 10 ms to 100 ms
- Level control: -infinity to -3 dBu
- Low Distortion (<0.2 %)
- Gig-saver bypass (the signal passes even if your battery dies)
- Powered by nine-volt battery or optional universal power supply
- Battery life of more than 100 hours
Aguilar expects to ship the TLC Compressor in January of 2010.
