Akai Pro working hand in hand with Alesis sure has resulted into something big that's really small. The Akai Pro Miniak is one small synth that packs quite a lot under its hood, especially with its powerful DSP sound-generation technology that forms the basis of its virtual analog synth engine. The compact size and extremely powerful features make it a great synth for musicians and producers on the go and is now shipping.

The Miniak is capable of having programs that have up to eight-voice multi-timbral voices, each with three oscillators. Interestingly new sounds can be created as well as more than 600 presets can be taken advantage of by users. Two multimode filters, three envelope generators, two LFOs, stereo effects, and a 40-band vocoder and a VPM1 gooseneck mic are also present. Also incorporated into the Miniak is a comprehensive sequencer step and dynamic real time phrase sequencing, a drum machine/rhythm sequencer, and an arpeggiator. To think that all of these features are crammed into a small synthesizer with 37 semi-weighted velocity sensitive keys is enough to amaze youof the Miniak's power. High-resolution, 24-bit balanced 1/4" inputs and outputs (two of each) complete the Miniak.
