Alesis-FXpansion DM10 Sound Set Development Partnership: Enough Electronic Drum Sound Sets Is Enough. Alesis Doesn't Think So.
With Summer NAMM 2009 just hours away from opening (as of this time of writing) in Nashville, many music and pro audio equipment manufacturers have been on the move to proclaim their greatness in their respective fields. Picking up the pace in doing so is Alesis, who had just announced a partnership with FXpansion, the developer of the BFD series, to create custom sound sets for the DM10 Pro Kit.
The DM10 already boasts of an impressive sound set thanks to Alesis' proprietary Dynamic Articulation technology. Alesis also proclaimed that the DM10 is the world's first electronic drum kit and drum sound module that enables players to load new sound sets via a USB connection to the computer. Despite such considerably groundbreaking features, Alesis is yet to be content with that and wants to push further boundaries. With this in mind, the Alesis-FXpansion Sound Set Development Partnership* has been announced in order to push the boundaries of electronic drumming further. Alesis is expecting that this move will result in an impressive line of sound sets for the DM10 that will always be fresh, current, and cutting edge.
The Alesis DM10 Pro Kit will be available in musical instrument and professional audio retailers by the third quarter of 2009.
