Alesis DM10 Studio Kit Video Demo: Nearly Silent, Nearly Deadly
January 26, 2010
If the even subtle ping produced by playing the vinyl-undercoated, metal-alloy Surge cymbals is still too loud for you, the new Alesis DM10 Studio Kit is what you're looking for. The Studio Kit's fully rubberized triggers and muffled real-feel drum heads are just about the stealthiest on any electronic drum kit.
We shot the DM10 Studio in action at Winter NAMM 2010, and it's a good thing we took a direct feed from the DM10 module -- otherwise you wouldn't hear the thing at all. Speaking of which. . . if we took a direct signal, what is Jason Donnelly dancing to?

Alesis Electronic drums are the worst
I have never played a noisier, more technologically retarded kit than this Alesis DM-10 Studio kit. It should be taken off the market. Period.
Nearly garbage
Nearly the same volume as a real drumkit, nearly as awesome as the sounds from Mario Paint... But not quite.
Great unbiased writting
Hey Owen O'Malley? How many pesos did Alesis pay you to write this propaganda?

Bullcrap
I own a DM8 (same triggers) and while it sounds good enough through iso headphones, unplugged the pads are loud as all hell. If you want an e-kit so you can play quietly, DO NOT GET AN ALESIS. Besides, you can find other features in much higher quality on just about any other brand anyways. The DM8 is pretty decent for a starter kit, but I will never get another Alesis once it's gone.
