Alesis MultiMix 8 Line: Continuing The Billion-Dollar MultiMix Franchise

June 17, 2008
Alesis MultiMix 8 Line

Their sleek, black and blue and streamlined aesthetic makes the MulitMix series of mixers from Alesis so cool looking, I'm hoping they expand the line to include kitchen appliances, shaving implements and casual footwear. At the rate they're going, I'd give it a year before MultiMix becomes a lifestyle brand.

The newest addition to the line is the MultiMix 8 Line, an eight-channel line-level-mixer that spiffs up any commercial audio installation or rack it happens to grace. Your other rack gear will want to be seen with it, vie for its attention and ask it to the sophomore mixer.

The mixer features a mic and line level input on the first channel, as well as as stereo effects loop, making it a useful submixer for instruments like keyboard or DJ setups as well. The mix architecture features auto-mono summing for lossless mono-stereo routing compatibility, and two MultiMix 8 Line's can be daisy chained while still sharing the same mix bus, yielding a total of 16 stereo inputs. The effects bus can also bee shared between the two mixers.

The full features-list details:

  • Eight-channel stereo line mixer
  • Microphone/line input on channel one
  • Stereo effects bus can be shared between two linked units
  • Channel expansion feature for expansion to 16 stereo input channels
  • Individual Pan and Effects Send controls on each channel
  • Signal clip and overload LEDs on each input channel
  • Stereo five-stage LED ladder for output level indication
  • Stereo monitor out
  • Mono input source compatibility for stereo output
  • 1RU 19-inch standard equipment rack size
