Alesis StudioDock iPad Audio Interface Offers Mic Pre's, MIDI, USB, Even A Video Out (Video)
It's a well-known fact: Steve Jobs hates buttons. He also hates Flash, public beta-testing, and — if the available I/O on the iPad is any indicator — I/O. No matter; where there's a will, there's a way, and Alesis has willed into being an iPad peripheral with more I/O options than your average desktop PC. The Alesis StudioDock was introduced at NAMM, and it turns your iPad into a fully-capable and -portable audio production workstation.
We got a look at the StudioDock at Winter NAMM; Alesis's Autumn Pittman showed off the chassis's plethora of input and output options, including XLR, MIDI, USB, separate line and headphone outs, and even an analog video coax out. StudioDock is set to street for $199.
