Allen & Heath ILive 1.6 Firmware And Editor Software Update: Supports ILive-R72 Control Surface And More
For those who live for iLive, Allen & Heath has released the version 1.6 update for iLive firmware and Editor software, which now offers support for the iLive-R72 control surface, plus Dual-Rack input expansion and the SuperStrip user view in Editor control software.
Just introduced at the Winter NAMM show, the iLive-R72 rackmountable control surface has 72 control strips arranged in 6 layers of 12 faders across 2 banks. The latest software release fully supports the new hardware and makes it compatible with the virtual control Editor software.
According to Allen & Heath, the most significant new feature in version 1.6 is the Dual-Rack system expansion that allows up to 128 input channels to be used simultaneously. Two MixRacks can now be linked together via the Port B sockets, in turn expanding the number of channels feeding the 32 mix buses and enabling both racks to be controlled by one surface. The Master Rack is assigned to CH1-64 and the Slave Rack to CH65-128.
Likewise, the 1.6 update gives Editor control software the new SuperStrip processing view, a useful feature that consolidates all the things you need to see into one viewing area. SuperStrip combines important live mixing parameters into a single window and displays a more comprehensive view of functions when configuring offline or mixing live.
