American Audio Radius 1000: Get Circular American DJ Style

November 13, 2008
American Audio Radius 1000

If you're feeling patriotic and you're a DJ, what better news is there today than the release of Radius 1000 by American Audio. It's a CD / MP3 player with MIDI capabilities, allowing you to play CDs or control your MP3 software with one unit.

The Radius 1000 doesn't actually have a Radius of 1000. That would be ridiculous -- unless of course it was a thousand of some arbitrarily named tiny unit made to be exactly one one thousandth of the radius of the Radius. The Radius 1000 features a six-inch jog wheel. For a frame of reference, imagine a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut!

It also features nine built-in DSP effects along with a big, shiny display for track titles and artist tags. A red LED marker rotates around the jog wheel as a reference point of where the music is playing.

Further features include a slot load CD drive, quick MP3 and CD disc recognition, advance track search which lets you search for a track while another one is playing, ten seconds of anti-shock memory, seamless loop, a trio of flash start buttons, a digital BPM counter and S/PDIF out.
