Ampeg SVT-7Pro And Ampeg SVT-8Pro: Introducing Two New Heads
For the SVT-Pro Series, Ampeg has introduced two new stackable, rackmountable heads, the SVT-7Pro and the SVT-8Pro (shown here). Both are light in weight and deliver high-wattage, tonal flexibility.
The SVT-7Pro ($1,119.99 MSRP) packs a 1,000W punch in a rather compact, 15 pound design. Its main features include a flexible 5-position mid tone control, remote switching FX loop, an onboard variable compressor, and a tube preamp with a JJ 12AX7 tube that feeds the Class-D power section. Ampeg notes that the SCT-7Pro is a good match for the new Pro Neo Series or Heritage Series enclosures.
Next in line, the SVT-8Pro ($3,359.99 MSRP) is even more powerful, outputting 2,500W of RMS power, still in a compact, lightweight design. Like the 7Pro, the 8Pro has an all-tube preamp, Class-D power section, and classic Ampeg tone controls. It fits in two rack spaces.
The Ampeg SVT-7Pro is currently available, while the SVT-8Pro is expected to ship in sometime during the third quarter of 2010. For more details on either model, please visit ampeg.com.
