API 1608 Mixing Console To Be Introduced

API 1608 Mixing Console

If you would rather have a high end studio mixer than a well equipped luxury sedan, you should know that API will introduce the API 1608 at AES. The API 1608 builds on the 1604 model which has been in use for over three decades - pretty impressive in a time when the next big thing is usually only a short time away from the last big thing.

The API 1608 adds some new features (including more bussing capability) while keeping the classic sounds and design as the 1604 and the same standards as their Vision and Legacy mixing consoles. The API 1608 boasts:

  • 16 Input Channels each with Mic Pre and Equalizer
  • Accepts API 500 Series Equalizers
  • Eight Main Buses
  • Eight Auxiliary Buses
  • One Stereo Bus
  • Eight Echo Returns with main and stereo bus assign
  • Full Center Section Control
  • Analogue Metering
  • 5.1 Center Section Monitoring
  • Comprehensive Rear Patch Connections

The 1608 also gives you options for additional enhancements. These include a 16 channel expander, equalizer delete per channel, and automated moving faders.
