API Audio

The 527 single-channel module debuted at AES with a modest mention of its coolest asset, the Thrust circuit. Its other, more mundane but necessary features, like controls for variable attack, release, ratio, and output gain, figured more prominently in the announcement.  

Les Claypool never was one to worry about how his music should be categorized. We spoke with Les about his touring setup, and why if you've got one ridiculously expensive studio preamp with you on the road, it only makes sense to get a second.
