Apogee Mini-Me, Mini-DAC Now With Firewire

March 21, 2007

Upper-crust digital I/O makers Apogee have made it a lot easier to expand on their entry-level signal paths. The Santa Monica, CA company announced the addition of Firewire option cards to their two-channel models Mini-Me and Mini-DAC.

Receiving the option are the Mini-Me, a 2-channel 24/96 A/D Converter, Mic-Pre and Compressor with optional FireWire Card as well as the Mini-DAC (2-Channel, 192k D/A Converter) and soon the Mini-MP (2-Channel, Analog Mic/Instrument Pre).

With Firewire, multiple-unit aggregation is now a possibility, allowing those who want to expand beyond two channels to chain together multiple units. The optional Firewire card also allows direct connection to DAWs at 96kHz (Mini-Me) and 192kHz (Mini-DAC).

New pricing for the units with the Firewire option:

  • All Minis are now $795 each ($995 with Firewire Option Card)
