Applied Acoustics

Keyboardists got a rise out of Strum Acoustic GS-1 from Applied Acoustic Systems, and AAS takes the next logical steps with the announcement of the release of Strum Electric GS-1. Let's pretend the GS stands for the gold star you should imagine giving yourself if you saw this one coming!  

Given the state of the economy, perhaps its wise of Applied Acoustics to release a less expensive, more scantily featured version of Strum Acoustics GS-1. Session offers the same basic features with fewer presets, voicings and fixings.  

Applied Acoustics Systems shows Strum Acoustic GS-1, a software program targeted for keyboard players looking for more authentic guitar sounds. Using strummed guitar chord voicing, chords sound more like natural guitar when played by a keyboard.  

The realistic recreation of acoustic instruments, including all the subtle nuances that go beyond parameters like attack and delay, is something of a Holy Grail for sample engineers. AAS's new guitar synth promises to realistically deliver everything a real guitarist would, save the mistakes.
