Art & Science of Sound announced the Level 3 Master Class Training Session with Alan Parsons, taking place in Los Angeles in Jul

Want to make a record with Alan Parsons? If you can make it to Los Angeles, Calif. later this month, you might just be able to learn from and work with Mr. Parsons himself. Art & Science of Sound (ASSR) announced the Level 3 Master Class Training Session with Alan Parsons -- a special event scheduled for July 22 and 23, 2011, at which a select group of attendees will make a record with multi-Platinum engineer, producer, and artist Alan Parsons, as well as work with some of LA’s best session musicians at Village Studios.

The Master Class will take place at Village Studios, the same legendary place where such classic records as Steely Dan’s Aja and Fleetwood Mac’s Tusk were recorded. The Level 3 (advanced) Master Class Training Session will include a live tracking session with piano, guitar, and keyboard overdubs, lead and backing vocals, and a mix. This two-day workshop expands upon many of the techniques and practices shown in Parsons’ Art & Science Of Sound Recording video series.

Open to just 25 people, the workshop will let attendees observe and participate in all aspects of a professional recording session, from setting up a live tracking session to working on a final mix. Stages include miking drums and piano, getting optimum separation, general mic selection, recording keyboard and guitar overdubs, and recording lead and backing vocals; everything from EQ to compression to effects will be covered.

At the end of the session, attendees will take away a mix of the track they have been working on. They will also have the opportunity to take away the Session file for further inspection after the event.

The cost for the event is $1,950 per person (or $1,750 with student ID). This event is sponsored by Vintage King Audio, Audio-Technica, Universal Audio, and Yamaha.

Included in the cost of the workshop is lunch with Alan Parsons on both days and refreshments throughout; a USB thumb drive of the final mix; a goodie bag from sponsors, including Audio-Technica ATH-m40 headphones, Universal Audio UAD coupons worth $299, and a signed copy of Alan Parsons’ Art & Science Of Sound Recording DVD set; and the opportunity to get a copy of the full multi-track session files (attendees must supply media).

The Los Angeles Level 3 Master Class Training Session with Alan Parsons is limited to just 25 seats. Sign up early to secure a place at the event.

I've tried to get involve in

By: Custom Magnet Printing (not verified)

I've tried to get involve in this workshop but the company had to many requirements to fulfill. A workshop looks good at my resume and offers me an advantage in my career. It's a shame that I didn't meet the selection criteria for this job. And not to tell but music is another hobby of mine, beside collecting Custom Magnets.
