For Native Instruments Kontakt users, Audiority released Epic Pig Guiro, a deep-sampled and designed guiro sound library / instrument meant to be used as a handy companion tool for both soundtrack composing and cinematic scoring.

In making Epic Pig Guiro, Audiority recorded a pig-shaped guiro (a Latin-American percussion instrument) in various ways, hitting it with different mallets and some unusual objects. The instrument is commonly played by striking it on its body or rubbing on its top notches to produce a ratchet sound. According to the manufacturer, the idea behind this library is represented by the challenge of getting cinematic sounds out of such a small and limited musical instrument.

Epic Pig Guiro includes a total of 25 Kontakt Instruments, 196 samples, with up to 3 Velocity layers, up to 16x round-robin, and a range of performance controls. The Kontakt patches are divided into three categories -- Organic, Rhythmic, and Designed -- which provide the natural guiro sound, along with some live performed loops and twisted designed sounds. All in all, you will get 25 cinematic instruments with organic sounds, rhythmic loops, pads, and SFX.
