Audio-Technica AT2021: New Cardioid Condenser Microphone Released

July 20, 2010
Audio-Technica AT2021 cardioid condenser microphone offers an extended frequency response, high SPL, and wide dynamic range.

Use the new Audio-Technica AT2021 in the home studio, while recording onstage, or anywhere else you need a cardioid condenser microphone with an extended frequency response, high maximum SPL, and a wide dynamic range.

The slim, low-profile AT2021 microphone is said to provide studio-quality performance for vocal and instrument applications and is ideal for recording acoustic guitar, overheads, pianos, and group vocals. Designed mainly for home studio and live applications, the AT2021 offers an extended frequency response of 30 to 20,000 Hz, high maximum SPL, and a wide dynamic range. This mic is available on its own or packaged with the Audio-Technica AT2020 in the AT2041SP Studio Pack.

According to the manufacturer, the new mic captures smooth, natural sonic characteristics of the audio source, and the low-mass element provides excellent transient response. Corrosion-resistant contacts from the microphone’s gold-plated XLRM-type connector, along with the microphone's rugged design and construction, deliver a consistent and reliable performance. What's more, the unit’s cardioid polar pattern rejects pickup of sounds from the sides and rear, improving isolation of the desired sound source.

The AT2021 comes with a stand clamp and a soft protective pouch.
