Audio Technica BP892 MicroSet: Minimum Visibility, Maximum Audio Quality
A lot of instruments and other musical apparatuses impress certain images to our minds. As cliche as a Flying V guitar (and similar archetypes) giving out images of the hard rock and metal guitarist, the headworn microphone gives out either the image of a motivational speaker or a dancing pop singer prancing around onstage to the latest beat. Either way, both of those people mentioned need to move around a lot onstage and require a constant amplification of their voices. A new series of headworn microphones has been introduced as Audio Technica BP892 MicroSet.
The BP892 MicroSet is a new headworn subminiature omnidirectional condenser microphone that offers increased dynamic range with maximum audio quality in a barely visible form. Taking advantage of new miniaturization technology, the BP892 has a condenser capsule with a diameter of just 2.6 mm. The small size is ideal for applications requiring minimal visibility. The ultra-light and ergonomic design allows under-the-ear comfortable yet secure placement that it can be worn for hours without experiencing fatigue. The contoured earpiece allows the BP892 to remain in place even if it is the most active pop sensation in town.
High-quality low-profile operation is the hallmark of the BP892. The BP892 has a highly durable Parylene coating in either non-reflective black or theater-beige finish. Its high-SPL capability (135 dB) is ideal for high-volume requirements such as motivational speakers and stage actors. Available in a wired model as well as in various terminations that allow wireless operation under various systems, the BP892 has a flat, extended frequency response (20-20,000 Hz). The wired version has a switchable integral 80 Hz high-pass filter that allows switching from a flat frequency response to a low-end roll-off; this feature also reduces sensitivity to popping and low-frequency ambient noise. The BP892 also features a low-impedance balanced output via its XLRM-type connector and also includes a power module (wired version only), two windscreens, two element covers, a cable clip, a moisture guard, and a protective carrying case.
