Audix CabGrabber: Cabs Report Being Touched . . . Appropriately
The Audix CabGrabber is a neat concept that really cleans up the stage. A mic holder that attaches directly to your guitar amp, the CabGrabber is pretty safe from accidental bumping caused by aimlessly wandering band members or unruly fans who rush the stage.
You can also do some pretty sweet ninja moves with it if you're ever attacked during load-in.
INTERVIEWER: Well, here we are at the Audix booth at NAMM 2008 with [PH] Lofty, our product specialist. What do you have for us, Lofty?
[PH] LOFTY: The Audix i-5: one full answer to any kind of instrument mic'ing. All-purpose microphone. Like all the Audix microphones, it's a wonderful shade of black. It's a great mic. We want to get it on a lot more amplifiers. We've got a great way of doing it for you. If you're fed up with the bass player walking over and kicking over your mic stand for your guitar cabinet, no longer will that need to happen. If you have your CabGrabber, you can attach any microphone to your amplifier, position it in just the right place, again in a wonderful shade of black, any microphone will fit, but unless it's a black one, it's going to look kind of goofy.
And this is how it's going to go on for you. A little hook on the back, a hole, position your microphone, and you're done. Perfect.
INTERVIEWER: Thanks. Well that's a pretty interesting innovation you got there. When that's going to be ready for sale.
[PH] LOFTY: This one's going to be ready within 90 days. It's going to MAP out at 50 bucks. If you're going to mic up your guitar cabinet, use one of these, leave your mic stand at home.
INTERVIEWER: It's s certainly worth 50 bucks. Thanks [PH] Lofty.
