Audix Camo Mics: Where Are They? They're Invisible!
Hot on the heels of the Sennheiser Mic Skins, Audix announces a new line of "designer" OM2 and i5 microphones. So what do these mics have over the Sennheisers (audio performance aside)? For one thing, their trendiness isn't merely skin deep, as the Audix mics' designer patterns are printed directly on the microphones' body and grille.
The first series of Audix Designer mics will feature different takes on the classic camouflage pattern, which enjoyed widespread use in 20th century warfare as missile weapons increased in range and accuracy. Conversely, you'll undoubtedly be a "hit" when you storm the stage with these new Audix designs.
Themed after the greatest conflicts of the past one-hundred years (we're guessing), the five color-variations include:
- Winter Camo -- (Korean War, 1950-53)
- Desert Camo -- (Desert Storm, 1991)
- Jungle Camo -- (Vietnam, 1959-75)
- Forest Camo -- (WWII, European Theatre, 1933-45)
- Pink Camo -- (Very Great Happy Fun Invasion Of Hong Kong, TBD)
MSRP for the designer Audix OM2 and i5 will be $149 and $179 US, respectively. Oh, and here's a picture of Miley Cyrus:
