Summer NAMM 2006: Audix shows Gearwire the Fireball-V, an improved version of the old Fireball harmonica microphone that features a volume control strategically placed for easy manipulation while playing. The microphone boasts a 50 Hz to 16 kHz frequency response, and features a cardioid polar pattern to cut out ambient noise.

ROB SCHNELL: Hi. Rob Schnell here on behalf of Audix Microphones, here at the Summer NAMM 2006 in sunny Austin, Texas. Let me show you the Audix Fireball-V. The Fireball-V came out after our very successful Fireball harmonica microphone this year with the added advantage of having a volume control integrated right into the body which simply can be slid with your hand right across here, turn it up and down.

Now, much like the original Fireball, this mic has an ability to be cupped by the user and not change its sound because of its directional pickup pattern. It also has an extremely durable metal construction, it's good for use on stage and in studio for harmonica, for beatboxing, and for vocals.

Estimated street price of the Fireball-V is $129. Once again, this is the Fireball V from Audix. I'm Rob Schnell coming from the Summer NAMM Show.
