Audix M1250 And M1280 Added To Micros Series
The Audix Micros series has just gotten a tiny bit larger with the addition of the M1250 and M1280. These Micros series microphones are ideal for overhead miking applications for both studio and live performance functions like choirs or theater applications.
The two microphones together weigh in at a combined 1.6 ounces with the M1280 bringing the beef at one ounce, dwarfing its 17 gram companion, the M1250. The extra two fifths of an ounce won't put too much of a strain on your back, but the M1280, at 40Hz-20kHz, will give you extended bass response over the M1250 which gives you frequency response from 80Hz-20kHz.
Both microphones are built with brass at the Audix factories, finished with a durable black coating, and then laser etched with both the model number and the serial number.
Each microphone also comes with a few more goodies including a proprietary 25’ cable (XLRm to mini-XLRf ), a mic stand adapter, a hanging clip, a foam windscreen, and a carrying pouch. Best of all, perhaps, are the four included, interchangeable capsules: cardioid, omni-directional, hypercardioid, and supercardioid.
The Audix Micros series reminds us that it's not the size of your condenser microphone that matters. It's the motion of the capacitor.
