Audix USB Podcasting Microphone: Simple USB Audio For Everyone Not Recording A Pro Studio Album
Noting the rise in the popularity of podcasting alongside the demand for simple audio recording for consumers not concerned about recording quality audio, Audix was showing off their USB Podcasting Microphone at Winter NAMM 2008.
This convenient piece has both pad and roll-off on the bottom and a headphone output built in. It comes in white or black to match or purposely mismatch the mood of your surroundings.
SPEAKER: We got the USB microphone, easy interface for getting the audio into your computer, and if you can get audio into your computer, you can send it out to the world. All sorts of users, if you're a gamer and you want to talk to everybody online that you're gaming with, you're going to get a louder and a very clearer signal going out to the world. You're also going to get instant messages nice, loud, and clear.
It's simple. You don't need a computer interface to get your audio into your computer. You just plug in to a USB port and away you go. You can listen to it live. There's no danger of latency. We have a headphone out directly on the microphone.
The instructions are simple. We have pad and a roll-off, so like if you have here the sound of your fan, a lot of trucks going by outside, click the switch, it's all going away for you. Switch on top, you can press to talk or you can latch this as an on/off switch. That's the capsule from the Micro series. It's got the double gooseneck. You can get this on your desktop. If your desktop is anything like my desktop, there's not an awful lot of room so you're going to want something with a lower profile. Suits the décor I f you've got an Apple Mac [SPEAKER SHOWS A WHITE MODEL], [SPEAKER SHOWS A BLACK MODEL] if you got a PC.
INTERVIEWER: You're not from around here, are you?
SPEAKER: I'm from Pittsburgh [LAUGHS].
INTERVIEWER: Works for me.
