Avantone Releases New Tube Mics
Avant Electronics of Upland, CA has rolled out a pair of flexible tube mic designs aimed at a broad range of applications.
The new Avantone CV-12 (pictured, in case) is a muti-pattern large capusle design that comes with three different interchangeable tubes that allow you to change the gain just ahead of the output transformer. The three tubes are the 6072A, the ECC81 and ECC83. The CV-12 sports a vintage-style shockmount, an 80Hz roll-off switch, a -10dB pad and power supply providing nine switchable patterns.
Also making its debut from Avant is the CV-28, a front-firing, small-capsule design meant for use with acoustic instruments. It comes with three interchangeable 19mm capsules for the omni, cardioid and hypercardid patterns.
The CV-28 has an MSRP of $389.00 while the CV-12 comes in at $399.00.
