Avid M-Audio GSR10, M-Audio GSR12, M-Audio GSR18: Portable Live Sound Speakers Debut

September 13, 2010
Avid M-Audio GSR active sound reinforcement speaker series includes the GSR10 and GSR12 PA cabinets and GSR18 subwoofer.

For musicians and DJs who perform in small to mid-sized venues, Avid has introduced the M-Audio GSR active sound reinforcement speaker series, which includes the 10-inch GSR10 and the 12-inch GSR12 full-range PA cabinets, and the 18-inch GSR18 subwoofer that offers extended bass for larger venues.

Designed to be ergonomic, lightweight, and portable, the new GSR speakers have a lot to offer. The 250W GSR10 and the 300W GSR12 two-way active PA speakers feature Neodymium magnets in the low-frequency drivers, which reduce the overall weight to allow for easy setup and transport between venues. The 500W GSR18 active subwoofer offers four locking casters that make it easy for you to roll the sub into position. All three models are built with lightweight, Class D amplifiers that provide sustained high-output levels with minimum distortion and extremely low heat.

Other notable features for all models include EQ presets, a well-balanced and expansive sound, and flexible setup options. Four EQ presets designed for multiple applications allow you to optimize the GSR10 and GSR12 for any sound setting, including DJ, live performance, music playback, and public address. Variable low-frequency crossover functionality in the GSR18 sub lets you tune the unit for use with GSR10 and GSR12 full-range speakers or any other full-range speaker, for flat frequency response.

Thanks to exclusive OptImage wave guide technology in the GSR10 and GSR12 models, you can get an expansive, balanced sound with wide dispersion and excellent off-axis response throughout any venue.

What's more, you can deliver broad sound coverage in any venue by positioning the GSR10 and GSR12 from built-in 1.4-inch pole mounts, suspend them from M10 integrated fly-points, or stack and lock identical units on top of each other for space-saving placement. The GSR18 subwoofer offers an integrated 1.4-inch speaker stand receptacle, allowing you to save space by conveniently securing a speaker above the subwoofer.

The GSR10 is now available for $499 (MSRP) and the GSR12 is available for $629 (MSRP). The GSR18 will be released November 1, 2010 for $999 (MSRP). For more information about the new GSR series speakers, please visit Avid or M-Audio's Web site.
