AweSome Musical Instruments Pickup Tone Multiplier T3-Board Kit Released
Now available from AweSome Musical Instruments, the Pickup Tone Multiplier T3-Board Kit is a you-build-it switching system that lets you "Hyper-Mod" a three-pickup right-hand or left-hand electric guitar, bass, or other instrument in order to get more pickup tones out of the same instrument.
The T3-Board is based on the company's Pickup Tone Multiplier (PTM) switching system, which sports six switches on a 1" x 3" board. Because this product gives you seven times more pickup tones (a total of 35 pickup tones) than usually available, the manufacturer says, you are better able to find that "elusive signature sound you desperately want."
The Kit version will fit in just about every three-pickup instrument. Ideal for the DIYer, it includes a solderless terminal strip to let you connect your three pickups and controls. Installation instructions may be downloaded from the AweSome Musical Instruments Web site.
Pickup Tone Multiplier T3-Board Kit includes the following:
- One PCB T-Board do-it-yourself kit
- Required PTM Board clearance: 1.00" (W) x 3.05" (L) x 1.15" (D)
- Six DPDT mini toggle switches
- One 8-position terminal strip
- 7.5" Insulated 26 gauge blue wire for testing
- 12" Insulated 26 gauge red wire (to extend existing pickup or input wires if needed)
- 12" Insulated 26 gauge black wire (to extend existing pickup or input wires if needed)
- 4 Yellow / clear solderless crimp connectors (UY2)
- 2 Grey wire nuts (71B)
- Styrofoam block and drill hole template used for assembly and installation positioning
- URL to download easy-to-follow instructions
Tools needed for assembly / installation:
- Soldering iron (25W recommended) with fine tip, rosin core solder
- Wire cutters / wire strippers
- Electric drill, 9 / 32" drill bit, 1/16" drill bit, center punch
- Small needle nose pliers
- Small Phillips screwdriver, small straight slot screwdriver

When your instrument is equipped with this Pickup Tone Multiplier switching system, you can select any of the 35 pickup tones that you need to blend in with the group, and use a different pickup tone that lets you stand out from the rest. According to the manufacturer, this is the only product -- aside from the handful of similar other products released by AweSome Musical Instruments -- that gives you seven times more pure virgin analog pickup tone choices without the need for batteries or sensitive electronics.
