Battles Interview, Pitchfork Fest 2011: Ian Williams Vs. Technology (Video)

Battles Interview pitchfork music festival 2011

There aren't many (any?) bands who fuse computer-based music technology with traditional rock band instrumentation more organically than Battles. But as Battles' Ian Williams can attest, sometimes mo' Macbooks means mo' problems.

We spoke with the multi-talented multi-instrumentalist before their set at this past weekend's Pitchfork Music Fest. Aside from the impressive musicianship on display, Battles' set was memorable for being cut off before they could play their last song, and for Williams' inviting the crowd to an after-party at somebody's apartment in Chicago. Like, he announced the building's address into his mic. There's a "PA" joke in there that I'm not going to make.

Visit the official website of Battles for more information.
