BBE Two Timer Pedal: A Real Good-For-Nothing So-And-So Of An Effect

February 05, 2008
BBE Two Timer

A long time ago [remember the 80's, goat boy?] Boss introduced a simple and fantastic-sounding little delay pedal known as the DM-2. But wouldn't you know it, they went and discontinued it. Silly Boss. Guitarists who remember the good ole days still keep an eye out for the pedals at sketchy pawn shops and sketchier websites.

Well put down that mouse, e-bidder; here comes BBE with the perfect alternative: the Two Timer. This pedal recreates the fully analog sound path of the original DM-2, utilizing a bucket-brigade delay circuit for a sound that's truly faithful* to the original.

DM-2's are hard enough to find as it is, so BBE has made the Two Timer even more desirable by designing it as a two-channel delay. It's basically two DM-2's in one pedal, meaning you can have a rockabilly slapback AND Gilmour-worthy echo instantly accessible. Each channel has a separate Time knob, and there's master Repeat and Mix knobs, along with Time switch and true bypass on/off foot-switches.

All this is housed in a metal casing that borrows the eraser-pink hue of the original, and features a portrait of presidential hopeful Mitt Romney!**

*faithful. . . get it?
**HAHAHA just kidding! It's Ronald Reagan.
