MARK WILSON: So, here's the phrase analyzer. I've set up this phrase, it's up to eight beats long. Very easy to set up a phrase; you can just dial in the note you want, so here I've got this little phrase.

[MARK WILSON PLAYS PHRASE ON BEATNIK]

That's enough for history. Now what you can do is scroll through the phrase and see your history and your score for each note in the phrase, so you can say, "Wow I'm nailing my eighth-note triplets but my 16th notes are a little funny. You can see I'm dragging that one or I'm rushing that one.

I think you can say, well gee, I've got 77% percent my eighth notes are accurate to the nearest 512th note, but only 30% of my eighth note triplets are accurate. So, it's a practice tool, and it makes it very easy for you to adjust, a little ahead, a little behind, change your feel, it touch sensitive and it chose the dynamic levels of your playing, left hand right hand, even the substroke. It does quarter notes, eighth notes, eight-note triplets. 16ths, it does fives, sixes, seven, and eighths and all the permutations so you can set a rest in any position along the way, and create a very complex rhythm. It gives you immediate feedback, so you can immediately do something about your skills.

So if you knew what you were doing, you would know what to do to make them better. So that's Beatnik. Never been anything like it.
