Beyerdynamic MC 910 And Beyerdynamic MC 950: MC Hammer Custom Series Mics
Perhaps you're familiar with the beyerdynamic MC 930, a popular studio condenser that's very effective on orchestras, choirs, grand pianos and the like. Now, the MC 900 line expands with the beyerdynamic MC 910 and the MC 950. These new mics feature the same capsules, but the MC 910 has an omnidirectional polar pattern and the MC 950 has a supercardioid pattern.
ANTHONY ZAMMIT: Hey, I'm Anthony Zammit with Beyerdynamic, and what we're looking at right now are three studio condenser mics: our MC 900 Series. The MC 930 has already been in the market for some time. It's a very popular studio condenser also available as a matched stereo pair, very good for live or studio recording of things like orchestras, choirs or instruments perhaps like grand piano or percussion, anything where we need a very true and very accurate sound reproduction.
The new models are the MC 910 and the MC 950. Same microphone capsule but the MC 910 is an omnidirectional mic and the 950 a supercardiod where the 930 was cardiod microphone with very good off-axis rejection. Again, very high quality studio or live condenser mics, all available as matched stereo pairs. The 910 and the 950 should be available some time at the beginning of 2009.
