Blackheart Little Giant Tube Amplifier Hits The Streets

Blackheart Engineering Little Giant

Blackheart Engineering may be an unfamiliar name, but its perhaps one you should get to know. Possibly inspired by Rick Moranis and his troupe of misfits and outcasts that bandied together to become a winning football team in a movie of the same name, the Blackheart Little Giant model vintage style amp proves that it has heart.

Pyotr Belov, who hand-builds highly acclaimed amplifiers, handles every detail of Blackheart's products. All of these designs begin in Pyotr's garage as hand-wired, point-to-point models that are tweaked until they're just right. The Little Giant was no different.

Blackheart's Little Giant head is a five-watt, single-ended Class A design with an EL84 power tube and a 12AX7 preamp tube. Even at only 5W, the Little Giant is a versatile amp with switchable pentode and triode modes and three band EQ controls.

The Little Giant sounds great paired up with a matching cabinet featuring single 12-inch Blackheart by Eminence speaker in a void free plywood enclosure. Otherwise, it is built as the Little Giant Combo as well with the same speaker inside with an open backed design.
