Blackstar HT-Delay, Blackstar HT-Reverb, Blackstar HT-Modulation: Step On Your Tubes
British amp upstarts Blackstar Amplification introduced the HT-Valve line of tube-(valve-)powered stompboxes last year, and have now expanded the line to include the Blackstar HT-Delay, Blackstar HT-Reverb, Blackstar HT-Modulation pedals.
The Blackstar HT-Delay (top left) is capable of eight distinct delay types, and uses its vacuum tube to accurately emulate analog compression and saturation in the vintage-style delay settings. The delay modes include multi-head tape delays, buck-brigade delays, modern digital delays sounds, and more, and there are two loop modes included as well. The pedal operates in true stereo and sports a tap tempo button (and shouldn't all delay pedals?).
The Blackstar HT-Reverb (right) also has eight different effect modes, ranging from room and studio plate reverbs to arena and hall ambiences. Once again, the tube circuit adds vintage compression and harmonics to the effect, with varioable intensity determined via a knob labeled "dwell." Th HT-Reverb is also a stereo effect and features a secondary footswitch to select either short or long reverberation times.
The Blackstar HT-Modulation pedal (left) is, again, an eight-mode, stereo effect. The modulations types range from tremolo to phaser to flanger. Like on the HT-Delay the Saturation control on the HT-Modulation dials in real tube compression and warmth, while the secondary footswitch lets you switch between fast and short speed ranges on-the-fly.
All three pedals are housed in metal chassis and feature a unique noiseless switching mechanism and buffered bypass circuit.
Pricing and availability are TBA.

Sympathy for the Devil
-Wow!
I'm actually posting on one of my FAVORITE websites! -Love you guys to death and I'm in music instrument sales, so I mean it!
But lets get real for a minute. First off I love Blackstar, but when everyone's talking mobility, why would you ever design something this clunky and humongous?? All I'm saying is my opinion as a guitarist and avid gear hound, and all I'm sayin' is I already have an entire room for my pedal setup, if I buy these too then I'll be so far away from my amp I'll have to also get the most excessive amps, and then I'll be the Who revisited, and although I will rock, I will be back in the 60's and the least mobile modern person ever. I love Pedals, but make pedals portable for a guitarist people, not three roadies!
