Blade Guitars Dayton Standard & Dayton Deluxe: Vintage Appeal And Contemporary Design Makes Today's Guitarist Real Happy
The love for vintage looks and sounds will never cease to exist, being a testament to man's love for history. This love for history in return imposes changes that are seen today, including the requirements of today's musician. The dichotomy of the "here and now" and the "there and then", despite the pains of resolving both, has been attempted by many resulting in an ongoing string of successes and failures. Following that successful path of integrating vintage inspiration and contemporary function are Blade Guitars Dayton Standard & Dayton Deluxe.
Being aware of the needs of today's guitarists as well as being inspired by the richness of the past, Blade Guitars follows the "form follows function" motto. The two new additions to the Dayton line of guitars follow the same principle, both of which being an expression of comfort-enhancing ergonomics, perfect balance, and pure tone.
The Dayton Standard (left) is armed with Blade's VS-1 single-coil in the neck position and the new LP-92 Soapbar by the Blade Falcon tremolo bridge. The Dayton Standard has an alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, three-way switch, and vintage-style tuners. It is also adorned with a vintage-colored pickguard and has a three-tone sunburst finish. The Dayton Standard has a price tag of $1289 MSRP.
The Dayton Deluxe (right) possesses the same build characteristics as the Dayton Standard with a fatter and thicker tone provided by two Alnico-four-based humbuckers mounted on a custom-brushed pickguard. The Dayton Deluxe sells for $5349 MSRP.
As Blade guitars attempt to cover both vintage and contemporary grounds, reconciling the past with today is a definite trend to follow. After, cliches won't be cliches if they weren't true and downright applicable, right?
