Blue Cat

Cash-strapped recording enthusiasts often look to free options for their professional needs. The problem with them sometimes is that they become just hard disk fillers that have no good use at all. The Blue Cat Audio Freeware Pack has just been updated to make you stop looking elsewhere for freebies and give you something a lot more useful.  

Another summer freebie has sprouted out of the blue; this time it's in the 141st issue of Computer Music magazine. Blue Cat FreqAnalyst CM 1.1 has been released with that issue.  

I'm no fan of euphemisms, so I'm just going to go ahead and say that the new Blue Cat Audio Dyanmics 3.0 plugin is a fatty. None of this "fully-featured" verbal pablum for you, Blue Cat.  

The dirty half dozen of audio analysis plugins known as the Blue Cat Audio Analysis Pack (clever) is now available in AudioUnits format. No word yet on G-Unit formatting.  

Just emerging from its beta-pupa, Blue Cat Audio's suite of audio analysis plugins provides DAW-users with more than enough information to accurately assess, scrutinize and malign your kids- I mean mix. They'll thank you later, trust me.  

The official release of the Blue Cat Audio Freeware VST Bundle is here for Mac and PC. All the kinks of the Mac beta have been worked out: no more audio dropouts, no more lagging performance, no more DAW-crashes and, best of all, no more exploding computers. That gag is only funny ONCE.
