Blue Microphones Encore 100i Live Stage Instrument Mic Joins Encore Series

January 16, 2010
Blue Microphones Encore 100i instrument microphone capture live acoustic instruments and reduces off-axis noise.

New for the Blue Microphones Encore series is the Encore 100i, a rugged instrument mic designed to capture a variety of instruments and reduce off-axis noise.

At the heart of the 100i is a dynamic capsule with a custom diaphragm and coil windings that are matched to a tuned acoustic circuit. In addition, there is a custom-built transformer for low noise, and a highpass filter to reduce stage rumble.

Like the Encore 100 and 200 microphones, the new 100i sports a reinforced guard ring to protect the capsule, a small grille for easy placement in tight spaces, and a heavy-cast zinc barrel and electroplated / hardened paint finish for a strong, scratch resistant shell. Small side vents also help reduce resonance inside the capsule chamber and aid in low-frequency response.

Blue will ship the Encore 100i in February of 2010 for $89 MSRP. To learn more, visit bluemic.com.
