Blue Microphones Goes for the Desktop and Beyond with the Snowflake and Joe
Back at Winter NAMM, Blue Microphones shows us the Snowflake, the portable model in their USB series. It's great if you do a lot of recording right in front of your computer, and the carrying case doubles as a stand. Plus it's really affordable. Slightly higher on the money scale is the project studio model Joe, with a large cardioid condenser capsule. Check out both models in the video.

BILL HOLLAND: Welcome back to Gearwire.Com. I'm Bill Holland and I'm at the Blue Mics booth and you guys have two new mics to show us, the Snowflake I believe.
SPEAKER: Yes we do. This is our new feature for our Snowball, our USB line, which is the Snowflake. It's actualy going to be our portable version. You can slide this tray out. It comes with a cable, USB cable as well, and then you just flip this out and you put this around the top of your laptop monitor, and you can swivel it around. Great for Skype or podcasting or whatever you want to use. You can also throw it on top of your desktop, and it's going to be retailing for $59. It's a great addition to our USB line.
BILL HOLLAND: Cool.
SPEAKER: We're also coming up with a project studio microphone called the Joe. That is going to be retailing for $299. It features a large cardiod condenser microphone capsule and it's going to be a great unique design as you can see right there.
BILL HOLLAND: And also USB?
SPEAKER: It is not USB. It's XLR as well, so we're trying to fill that gap between the high and our low range microphones, and that should be a great price point.
BILL HOLLAND: We're going to move here at Winter NAMM 2008, but I'm Bill Holland for Gearwire.Com.
