Blue Cat Audio Digital Peak Meter Pro 3.0: Become The King Of All MIDI
Blue Cat Audio releases Digital Peak Meter Pro 3.0 [hereby referred to as DPMP], the heavily updated version of a unique analysis tool that blends customizable audio meters with advanced side chaining control capabilities with MIDI and automation output.
DPMP's metering capabilities empower you with control and monitoring of your audio signal the way you want to see it. You can see graphic evolution of your audio envelopes over time, and a mid-side switch lets you verify mono compatibility problems or check what Blue Cat dubs the "stereoness" of your audio.
Peak and RMS envelopes can be combined, reversed, modified and recorded as automation curves or even sent as MIDI CC data to control other effects. The usage possibilities range from voice-over and ducking to side chain compression, dynamic stereo enhancement, external MIDI hardware control, and more. Basically, you can rule over your MIDI with an iron fist thanks to DPMP.
If that's not enough, Blue Cat Audio even lets you customize the way you see DPMP. You can download skins from Blue Cat Audio's website or create your own!
Main features:
- Digital peak & RMS vu-meter
- Total control over the metering characteristics
- Bob Katz's K-System scales support [K-12 / K-14 / K-20]
- Instant, average and maximum audio levels
- Stereo or mid-side analysis
- Control in real time any MIDI-compatible plug-in or external MIDI device with the RMS or peak envelope of the signal thanks to the plugin's MIDI CC output. See the Tutorials section for more examples
- Record the output parameters [peak, RMS value, transformed envelopes, clip etc.] as automation curves
- Manage the shape of the output envelope: record reversed envelope, change amount of signal, and offset the generated envelope. This lets you use the DPMP for side chain ducking, compression and much more
- Advanced signal monitoring with envelopes real time display
- Easy 'stereoness' and phase cancelation measurement
- Opacity control for the user interface
- Undo/Redo
- Import/Export presets and share them between the directX and VST versions
