Blue Microphones Joe: A Very Sparkly Studio Microphone

October 23, 2007
Blue Microphones Joe looking good at AES

We take a look at the Blue Microphone Joe Condenser Mic, the second best looking Joe in all of the Gearwire videos from AES 2007. We'll get to Joe's technical progress later - this is merely an introduction to the Joe as well as a warning:

This microphone looks so good that you might want to blindfold yourself while singing if you're easily distracted by shiny things.

JAIME ENDICK: Hi. Jaime Endick here back at Gearwire.Com, AES 2007, here with Scott, and he's going to talk to us about the Joe.

SCOTT SCHUMER: Yes. This is our newest microphone. It will out in about a month and a half, perhaps two months, and it's called Joe for project studio application, and it's a fixed cardiod, large diaphragm condenser microphone that we're going to bring to market, selling at $299. You can see it's absolutely gorgeous and the owner, Skipper, is going to get into the design details on this in just a moment but absolutely beautiful microphone, a professional microphone from a professional microphone company, Blue.
