Blue Microphones BottleRocket Released At AES; Wes Anderson Is Dissaffectedly Nonplussed!

October 03, 2008
Blue Microphones BottleRocket

Appealing to project studio recordists and model rocket enthusiasts alike, the new BottleRocket mics from Blue are far safer to use than their namesake, but are sure to sound just as exciting.

The main feature of the BottleRockets is their interchangeable capsule design; the BottleRockets are compatible with the extant "Bottle Caps" line of capsules, also from Blue.

Two designs will be available, the BottleRocket Stage One and the BottleRocket Stage Two, with the former comprising a transformerless solid-state circuit, and the latter featuring an ECC88 vacuum tube.

Stage One Features:

  • Class A discrete solid-state amplifier circuit delivers superb detail
  • Includes Blue's versatile B8 capsule & shockmount
  • Hand-tuned and tested
  • Mic System allows for different capsules to be swapped "on the fly" for extreme versatility

Stage Two features:

  • Class A discrete amplifier circuit with hand-selected ECC88 vacuum tube delivers superb detail
  • Includes Blue's versatile B8 capsule & shockmount
  • Hand-tuned and tested
  • Mic System allows for different capsules to be swapped "on the fly" for extreme versatility
  • Includes custom flightcase, Powerstream power supply and high-definition tube mic cable

Pricing for the BottleRockets will be $899 for the Stage One, and $1999 for the Stage Two. Availability is expected at retailers by October 31st (of this year, we're assuming).
