Developed especially for Apple iPod and iPhone, the Blue Microphones next wave Mikey Portable Recorder ($99.99 MSRP) takes the best features of the original Mikey and adds improved circuitry, enhanced portable recording, and more.

This Mikey features two custom-tuned Blue capsules, a sleeker design than the original, and an improved acoustic circuit that allows for higher quality recordings of high-volume events (concerts, raves, and so forth). This version of Mikey has iPod certification, but iPhone certification is still pending.

The portable recorder sports a 3.5 mm line-input for direct recording of other sound sources, plus a USB pass-thru connection to allow for simultaneous charging and syncing. Its updated case design is compatible with most protective cases, and it also features a 230-degree range of adjustability with seven detent positions for perfect positioning.

Accessories are included; the Mikey comes with a soft carrying pouch and a headphone extension cable for instant playback monitoring when using iPod Touch and iPod Nano.

Blue Microphones will be shipping the new Mikey in the spring of 2010.
