Boss Loop Station World Championship: Looping Musicians Can Win Gear Plus A Trip To Winter NAMM 2011
Is looping your "thing"? If so, Boss is inviting you and any other looping guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, beatboxer, and anyone else to participate in the Loop Station World Championship, an open competition that will give you a chance to show off your Boss looper skills and try to win expensive gear and a free trip to the next NAMM show.
In the company's words, not ours, Boss wants you to bring it on. To get started in the open competition (running from June 1st to August 31st, 2010), submit a 5 minute or less video performance with any Boss RC-Series looping product to YouTube. Then fill out the official entry form at the Boss Web site, and wait to find out whether or not you have won. Entries will be judged and selected by Boss, who will be looking at the creativity, musicianship, stage presence, and technical skill of the looping performance.
The top six entries from the open competition will be flown to Hollywood, California to compete even further in the U.S. Loop Station Finals at the Musicians Institute on October 23rd. Those who win at the Finals will receive up to $3,000 in Boss gear and / or a trip to the International Championship at Winter NAMM 2011 (January 13 to 16, 2011) in Anaheim, where the final winner will compete yet again.
Performances at the U.S. Loop Station Finals will be judged by a panel of music industry insiders, including Jeff Baxter (The Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan), Michael Molenda (editorial director for Guitar Player, Bass Player, EQ, and Keyboard magazines), and Paul Youngblood (vice president of Boss U.S. and director of Boss Japan).
1st prize for the Finals is $3,000 in Boss gear and a trip to the International Championship in Anaheim; 2nd prize is $2,000 in Boss gear; and 3rd prize is $1,000 in Boss gear.
