BOSS RC-20XL Loop Station: You Don't Need A Band, But Do You Really Want One?
The BOSS RC-20XL is like a double edged sword, except its not very sharp. However, you can vanquish your bandmates with one if you're growing sick of it. Solo cellist Helen Money uses the Loop Station to perform live, and even though it fills out her sound quite a bit while she conveys her unaltered musical message, she does miss playing with a band.
Apparently, other musicians bring different ideas to the table and excel at their respective instruments. Plus jamming with other people can be fun. I never would've guessed.

ALISON CHESLEY: So one thing I've been using since I have been playing solo is my loop pedals because it helps me create a song, play different parts of a song, maybe layer one over another. I done some songs where I just loop over the song and create a song that way, but I try not to do that too much because I feel like it's not as interesting maybe, and I'm more interested in just playing songs.

I like playing by myself because it's kind of like an intense experience. I'm able to really think about what I want to do and I feel like it's I can directly convey what I feel with the audience. It's kind of like almost a one-on-one thing which I really like.
I would like to start playing with other musicians again my own music. I like what other people bring to it. I feel like it makes me grow. It's fun to play with other people and hear what they come up with so that's something I'm hoping to do again.
I think it through -- When I was starting to -- after I left my band, You know, Verbow, I had to chance to work with some poets and come up with music for them so then that because it was just me, that's kind of how it started just being a solo thing because I realized I could just play by myself. So but I think it would be interesting to incorporate other people into what I'm doing. It will be more organic I think.
