Breedlove Atlas AD25/SR Plus Invited To Sonic Palace To Perform For Sonic King
When recording acoustic guitar, the instrument you use is as important as any processor you put the signal through. Quinn Moore of Matt Mercado and the Amazing Devils is happy to show off his Breedlove Atlas AD25/SR Plus before it's surrounded by microphones.
After you see the Breedlove Atlas in all of its sleek glory, stay tuned to Gearwire for the miking and recording of this instrument.
QUINN MOORE: Quinn Moore. Hello Gearwire. [LAUGHS]
PATRICK OGLE: What's the git -- what kind of -- what guitar model is this?
QUINN MOORE: It's a Breedlove AD25/SR Plus. It's a great guitar. It's got a lot of the features you find on the higher end stuff. I fell in love it from the first time I played it. It's got the inlays and the binding and the clear finish built in.
PATRICK OGLE: Spruce top I'm assuming.
QUINN MOORE: Spruce top, built-in tuner, some of the other ones have the Fishman. The Fishman sounds great. The plus is the tuner on the Fishman pickup for electronics.
PATRICK OGLE: What are the other things you played before that, before the ---
QUINN MOORE: Taylor. I like Taylor a lot. It's hanging up there in the wall [OVERLAPPING].
PATRICK OGLE: Is that the actual Taylor? It's a cutaway, right?
QUINN MOORE: It's -- yeah -- It's -- I believe so. It's been here so long I hadn't seen it.
PATRICK OGLE: You forgot what it looked like.
QUINN MOORE: Yeah, and then for the album I was out looking for stuff and then for shows so I looked at some amps, some new guitars. I saw this, you know, grabbed it. I needed to have it. So, I've been playing this one. The other one gets played a lot also.
PATRICK OGLE: And do you find the Breedlove -- A lot -- one of the things people always say about the Taylors is that they're very bright and they're great for playing with a band because they cut through.
QUINN MOORE: They do cut through.
PATRICK OGLE: The Breedlove's probably it sounds a little bit like a deeper sounding instrument.
QUINN MOORE: The lower end. There's more lower end on it for sure. Yeah. It's -- Yeah, it's, you know, for the money it's a great guitar.
PATRICK OGLE: It's pretty too. That's another thing.
QUINN MOORE: It's -- That's what I was kind of mad about the features on the higher end stuff, you know. It comes stocked that way. I mean they -- their upper models are made in the U.S. I guess and they have a lot of the same features, but for the money you can' beat it.
