BTE Audio is a new plug-in developer that has re-created the legendary Ibanez Tube Screamer in a software version. Now they are not the first to do this, but the got a bunch of science to back theirs up. So I decided to run a little test on the beta version 0.9.1.1 of the plug.

Unfortunately, we don't have a TS-808 in the studio at the moment so I decided to test it against the model inside of the POD XT Pro. I turned off all of the amp simulations, split off the signal using a Radial JDI, and recorded into the POD and direct into the computer through the Lexicon Omega at the same time.

The settings on the POD and the TS' Secret were identical, all knobs straight up. After bouncing the files down I sent them through an amp simulator with identical clean settings. What was the outcome? Well, just hear for yourself by downloading the zip file below and giving the two files a listen.
