Cables And Parts At American Science And Surplus
ROB WARMOWSKI: American Science & Surplus is the king of cables and parts, and here we are in the audio isle demonstrating this. One right after the other is a bin -- are bins of specialty cables that you may have to hunt down otherwise if you don't just buckle down and pay for them right now. Six-foot digital optical cable here, usable for satellite dish, DVD, and TV as well but also for doing an optical transfer between DAT decks and say or an ADAT deck and an audio interface with an optical port. Lots of people have those and so I'd say get that problem solved with a 6-foot cable. It could run you dozens of dollars but here at American Science, we're talking about $3 for an optical cable, so that's a pretty good deal.
See that right next to it is something that for a price of $1.50 lots of people would recognize as the kind of stuff that a certain store that rhymes with Hadio Brack might charge you quite a bit more for. This is $1.50 for what looks like 6 feet of dual RCA cable, so a buck 50 you can't go wrong with that for a quick and dirty installation or certainly you're just having a spare around for your DJ gigs, pretty much essential.
Tsunami Audio Cables: These are your colored cables. These have a little bit more -- a little more color to them and so I guess the color that we're stuck with is purple but pretty much the same as the dual RCA cables except with color, so and not quite as cheap as the other ones but then again still cheaper than what you might find at some specialty stores. And then right next to them, more dual RCA patch cables. These ones are just loose and even, well cheaper than these but still the same costs as these. You can see that it's pretty light gauge wire. This is not exactly what you would call heavy duty stuff but for the back of a stereo or for the back of a sound system in a club or again as spares, pretty much a great thing to have.
