Two new Digital Sound Factory packs for the Dimension LE and Dimension Pro synthesizers are now available, courtesy of Cakewalk: DSF Volume 11: Atmospheric Energy, and DSF Volume 12: UltraModern Synthesizers.

Dimension Pro (Mac / Win) is Cakewalk's soft synth that combines real instruments and recorded sounds with advanced synthesis. It comes with its own library of multi-samples and grooves, more than 1,500 sound programs, and more. With Dimension, you can mix and layer up to four stereo parts per program, edit graphic envelope generators and LFOs, apply multi-stage effects and filters, use the real-time Vector Mixer, and drag and drop MIDI into the host.

Likewise, Dimension LE is the scaled down version of Dimension Pro; it does the same things but has fewer features. The LE synth uses Cakewalk's multifunction Expression Engine that provides capabilities for several types of synthesis, including multisample rendering, wavetable synthesis, REX playback and manipulation, waveguide synthesis, and an extensive DSP library of effects. Dimension LE comes with more than 400 factory programs and over 150 MB of guitar, bass, piano, percussion, and ethnic multisamples.

The DSF sound packs ($59.95 each) add fresh sets of patches for both Dimension LE and Dimension Pro. DSF Volume 11: Atmospheric Energy combines an original set of waveforms and unexpected programming, offering modern sounds for all styles of music production. This pack is said to deliver especially unique pads and textures that provide a great ambient bed, plus an interesting set of leads useful for embellishing melodies. Cakewalk notes that the pack's Attacks and Transitions will fuse tracks together and attend to those dry spots that need help. Volume 11 comes loaded with 200 atmospheric, energized programs

Next in line, DSF Volume 12: UltraModern Synthesizers offers just what its title suggests -- ultra modern synthesizer sounds. With this pack, you'll get an assortment of crisp harmonic waveforms designed for the modern music making, with over 400 edgy leads, synth basses, pads, and ultra-modern synth sounds.
