Fifteen winning artists have been selected in the Rock, Pop, and Country genres of the "Superstars" Songwriting Competition held by Cakewalk, Intel, and OurStage.com. The talented winners received prize packages featuring Intel Core-processor based computers systems, Cakewalk Sonar Producer software, the V-Studio 100 and V-Studio 20, and more. The first round of the songwriting competition, which ran from July 1st through August 31st, invited artists to submit original music in the Rock, Pop, and Country genres. The submitted tracks were then judged by fans of Intel's Facebook page with five winners from each genre winning the aforementioned prize packages. But the competition isn't over -- the first round winners will continue to compete for the $10,000 cash grand prize that that can be used to record an album, tour the country, fix up the band van, pay the rent, or anything else a "Superstar" would need. The grand prize will be awarded at the conclusion of the contest in January, 2011.

A second round of the competition opened September 1st and will finish on October 31st. This round focuses on three other genres: Latin, Urban, and Singer / Songwriter Artists.

After the new round is complete, the top 5 in each new genre will receive more prizes, and the top 20 of every music genre will also be entered into a grand prize competition (details will be announced later). Those who wish to submit their original song may do so at facebook.com/intel.
